Finally, some Mary news! She has been working on a small project called Stop/Eject which is a short film, co-written by Riley Kearns (aka Mary’s boyfriend). The film centers around a missing VHS tape and the problems it causes for a pair of memory archivists. It looks really interesting and it’s great to see Mary acting again. The film also stars Ryan Merriman, a close friend and Final Destination 3 co-star to Mary. Here as a few clips that have been put together.
Wild Cherry: The official site is up! It looks really cool. I always wanted Ryan to play the jerk jock in a teen comedy.
Ryan: And to answer your question in the previous tagboard Ash, Ryan has a lot going on right now. He's about to film Wild Cherry in Winnepeg, Canada, starring along side Rob Schneider and Tania Raymonde. The Harder they fall is currently in production, sadly I don't have any info about the status at the moment. Ryan just wrapped up shooting the pilot presentation for Harper's Island, hopefully we'll hear something about that in June/July. Home of the giants, sadly no news to report, I have no clue as to when it's coming out, the official site hasn't been updated in a while, and I've got no insider info either. Patience really is a virtue in this business. No news about Backwoods or The hard ride either. I haven't found any tv listings for Backwoods, and have heard nothing about the dvd release.
Site: I know things have been a bit slow on this site. I've just opened The Bakery - A Damian Lewis Fansite, dedicated to the truly wonderful British actor Damian Lewis, known for his roles in Band of brothers, The forsyte saga and the new NBC series Life. I'm trying to find a balance between the 3 sites that I run, please give me some time to get things back on track. I'll of course keep you all up to date on the latest Ryan news. I have found a couple of new HQ pictures of Ryan. I have practically every picture of Ryan out there, it's so hard to find new ones.
Oh, and some of you don't get it but the guestbook is meant for messages that are directed towards me, not Ryan. Ryan does not read the guestbook. A guestbook is a place where you can give feedback about the website.
Backwoods, which premiered on Sky One on Friday the 15th of February, sees a team of computer experts head into the mountains for a team-building weekend. The group splits into two teams for a game of paintball but soon find themselves under attack from the members of a crazed religious cult who mistake them for FBI.The film begins well (if not a little clichéd) with the obligatory opening death scenario playing out before we meet our main protagonists. The cast is comprised of some really likeable actors such as Ryan Merriman and Danny Nucci and for the most part they do good jobs, even if at least half of them don’t have much to do.In terms of gore the film was a little dry for the most part but there were a couple of gory moments later on.OVERALL SUMMARYBackwoods offers nothing new at all for horror fans, as it is essentially a re-hash of every inbred cannibal religious cult horror ever released, what it does offer is a likeable cast and some gore. Not bad for a Friday night TV premiere but I wouldn’t necessarily rent it or buy it.
The reviewer needs to get his genres straight, Backwoods is a psychological thriller not a horror movie.
Wild Cherry: About Ryan's part. Ryan will play the jerk football player (Stanford Prescott) with the "Bang book", he's Tania Raymonde's characters (Helen) boyfriend. Rob Schneider will play Helen's father. Here are the plot details.
Three high school girls make a pact NOT to lose their virginity before graduation after they find themselves the target of a virgin hit list known throughout their high school as the Bang Book. With cunning yet hilarious seduction our fairy-tale-dreaming protagonist Helen enlists the help of her two friends to teach the list-making boys a lesson in the meaning of sex. The most notable candidate for a tutorial is Helen's football kicking boyfriend Stanford Prescott.
But innocent trickery quickly turns into slippery deception... as Helen sets her traps of tease-without-please into motion, the pact, and every high school relationship she's ever forged begins to teeter on an unexpected breaking point.
Official forum: !!EDIT!! I've fully restored Ryan's forum. Thanks to the lovely support team of the webhost.
He sure keeps himself busy! Ryan's about to head over to Winnepeg, Canada to shoot the new indie comedy Wild Cherry. Here's an article from variety.com
Rob Schneider, Tania Raymonde, Kristin Cavallari, Rumer Willis and Ryan Merriman will star in indie ensemble comedy "Wild Cherry" for Redwood Palms, Rampage Entertainment and Farpoint Films. Dana Lustig will helm from Chris Charney's script; shooting starts May 7 in Winnipeg. Gavin Wilding is producing with Kyle Bornais; Jesse Kennedy, Mike DiManno and Scott Reid exec produce with Evan Tylor. Schneider will play the father of a high school senior who's decided to lose her virginity to her boyfriend, the football's team kicker. But when she finds out the boyfriend's only interested in her for the sake of the team's "bang book," she and her best friends plan their revenge inspired by the Greek play "Lysistrata." Lustig's credits included "Kill Me Later," "Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber" and "The Wedding Bell Blues." She'll next direct "Rock and Roll Nanny" with Etchie Stroh producing. Schneider next stars in "Big Stan" and "You Don't Mess With the Zohan," and he is currently finishing principal photography on "The Chosen One." Raymonde stars on "Lost" and recently wrapped "Still Waiting" for Lions Gate.
